Schaller climate strategy - on the way to CO₂ reduction with photovoltaics from AMPERIOS

Even before the energy crisis, Schaller GmbH began planning and installing a photovoltaic system on the roofs of its production halls. State-of-the-art CNC systems, pioneering coating processes and zinc die-casting machines are extremely energy-intensive. Reliable energy has therefore always played a central role for us.

By installing a PV system, we have decided to become energy self-sufficient and reduce our CO₂ emissions. In the first stage, 420 PV modules (375 watts/module) were installed, with a maximum rated output of around 157.5 kilowatt peak (kWp) per day. With the company AMPERIOS, our partner for commercial photovoltaic systems, we were able to expand the system by a further 384 modules (435 watts/module) with efficient assembly in just seven days and smooth electrical installation, which enabled an increase of an additional 182.4 kWp.

The 804 modules of the entire system now deliver an output of up to 340 kWp per day. This also reduces CO₂ emissions by an impressive 150 tons per year, another important step towards self-generation of electricity. With high-performance modules and inverters, the system is optimally designed for daily requirements - even in changing weather conditions.

There are also plans for the future: the next expansion is already being planned with AMPERIOS, this time with a large-scale industrial battery storage system for even more independence.

“Our production runs in all weathers. That's why we opted for the expertise of AMPERIOS for this plant expansion.” (Dr. Lars Bünning, Managing Director - Owner)

Our claim “The Original Innovators” is not only reflected in our products, but also in our commitment to sustainability and self-sufficiency. As one of the last remaining industrial manufacturers in the musical instrument industry in the EU, and with our 80-year history, it is important to us to break new ground in energy supply too. Creating a sustainable energy future not only strengthens our image, but also sets an example for responsibility and further innovation.
